The group has now moved into a more acquisitive phase and will continue to evaluate opportunities to strengthen its value proposition. Though the global financial crisis has caused problems to the worldwide cables industry, MESC Group is still very positive that it will face a bright future as it confronts the future with rich solid experience and innovative technology. Its brand has an esteemed image for quality of products, and its performance and professionalism throughout the years have proven that it is the leader in its industry.
Despite the tighter global economic environment, the year 2009 has marked another major milestone in the Group’s booklet of achievements:
• Export-oriented MESC generated sales in 2009
• 2010 Forecast of the Group to exceed 1.5 BSR
• Opening a Regional Sales Office in Libya
• MESC launched an Offshore Instrumentation Cable to BS 6883
• MESC group entered into negotiation to acquire UTEC Saudi-Australian JV
• MESC-RAK Plant project completed
• The decision of establishing a Research & Development Department for the Group has been made
• All major approvals for the group have been acquired
• Groups’ products penetrated New markets such as: Algeria, Nigeria ….etc
• Sponsoring major events like Arabcab, IEC (Instrumentation Experts Club)
• Sharjah Cable Factory is expanding within the region
• MESC-Fujikura celebrates its first year with major orders throughout the region
• Growing its Talent Base by attending seminars and providing in-house training
• Creating more work opportunities
• Appointing Mr. Hani Houhou as the Group Human Resources Officer

Through expansion in Saudi Arabia, Jordan and the United Arab Emirates, MESC wants to raise sales 3 billion riyals and net profit to 300 million riyals within the next 3 years.

Although the area is facing recession, the positive optimistic attitude that prevails means it is well placed for committing to long term sustainable practices. MESC Group of companies being based in the region will have a pivotal role to play in influencing the construction projects of the future in order to minimize the waste of materials and resources.
